The widespread use of digital technologies in people’s daily lives has several implications for the privacy and security of users. The SML is investigating several issues at the intersection of privacy and technology, including how people manage their privacy online and how interfaces can be designed to better support users’ privacy.
The SML is also interested in helping parents and educators understand teenagers’ use of technologies, their feelings about privacy, and their needs in developing privacy-protective online habits. As part of this aim, we partnered with ACT for Youth to develop an online course on teenagers’ use of social media and technology. Link coming soon!
